2. What is medication management for mental health?

Medication management is a personalized process where your provider evaluates, prescribes, and monitors psychiatric medications to help improve emotional and mental well-being.

For women experiencing postpartum depression, perinatal anxiety, or hormonal mood changes, medication management can help balance brain chemistry, stabilize mood, and reduce symptoms safely and effectively.

3. What conditions can medication management help with?

Our staff provides medication management for a range of women’s mental health conditions, including:

  • Women 15+

  • Postpartum depression (PPD)

  • Postpartum anxiety

  • Perinatal depression and anxiety

  • Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD)

  • Major depressive disorder (MDD)

  • Perimenopausal and menopausal mood changes

  • Mood instability related to hormonal changes

Each treatment plan is individualized to support emotional balance and overall wellness.

4. Is medication safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

Medication safety is one of our top priorities.

Leslie and Chelsea carefully evaluate each patient’s needs, symptoms, and medical history to choose the safest and most effective treatment options.

If you are pregnant, postpartum, or breastfeeding, your provider will discuss the benefits and risks of each medication and offer evidence-based guidance tailored to your situation.

5. What can I expect during my first appointment?

During your initial psychiatric evaluation, your provider will:

  1. Review your health history, symptoms, and current medications

  2. Discuss your goals, life stage, and emotional challenges

  3. Create a personalized medication plan (if appropriate)

  4. Explain how medications work and what to expect
This is a collaborative process! You’ll always be part of every decision about your care.

6. How often will I need follow-up appointments?

Follow-up appointments are scheduled regularly to monitor your progress and adjust medications as needed.

Leslie and Chelsea works closely with you to ensure the treatment remains effective and side effects are minimized.

Most patients start with monthly follow-ups, then transition to every few months once stable.

7. Do I need therapy in addition to medication management?

While medication can be highly effective for many conditions, Leslie and Chelsea encourage a holistic approach that may include therapy, self-care, and lifestyle changes.
