The holidays are not a scoreboard or a test of worthiness. If jealousy is showing up, it’s because you are a person who loves deeply and has lived through more than most people will ever understand. Self-compassion isn’t about eliminating jealousy, it’s about meeting yourself with softness when it appears.

Confirmation bias is fairly simple. The brain is a survivor, and when the brain hears a narrative we tell it, its job is to prove it to be true. Subconsciously, all day long the brain fights to find evidence that the stories and beliefs we tell it to be accurate.
